Resort Fact File
Le Bettaix is situated at 1600m by the Le Masse Mountain just below Les Menuires in The Three Valleys. The area offers great access to Courchevel, Meribel and Les Menuires/Val Thorens. There are seven ski-able peaks with some pistes at an altitude of over 3000m and 600km of interconnecting slopes linked together by a modern and comfortable network of 200 ski lifts.
The extensive ski system will easily take you around the Three Valleys. There is a gentle blue run leading to the chalet perfect for beginners and children to practice on. Intermediates will find it easy to access the blues and reds of the close by Les Menuires and Val Thorens. Experts have plenty of challenging blacks and off-piste. It’s also great for snowboarders as there is some super off-piste and snow-parks with half-pipes. There are also cross-country skiing tracks nearby the chalet that take you past beautiful mountain scenery.
New for this winter: Richmond Shuttle Mini-Bus
Richmond will be operating our own shuttle mini-bus service between Chalet Elise and Les Menuires, three times a day, Sunday to Friday. There will be 8 places per transfer, per way. There will be a sign-up sheet put in the lounge the night before - with priority to beginners and non-skiers.
Shuttle transfer information, with approximate timings:
- Morning: 08:45 (Leaving Chalet Elise to meet the morning lessons)
- Lunch time: 12:30 (leaving Les Menuires)
- Afternoon: 16:30 (from Chalet Elise to Les Menuires) then returning at 17:00 (from Les Menuires to Chalet Elise)
There is plenty to do for non-skiers. Nearby Les Menuires is 15 minutes away by car, with a variety of shops and restaurants, a Toboggan run ‘Roc and Bob’ as well as a popular family friendly sports centre with a large pool and spa. Alternatively, if you want to go and explore there is snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing and free buses that run to the picturesque village of Saint-Martin and the modern town of Val Thorens.
You can also explore the mountains on foot, hiking along the marked trails, or using the pedestrian ski lift passes; also, ESF offers snow shoe walks twice daily. You can walk to our other chalet in Reberty Village and enjoy lunch at the traditional French resturant ‘La Ferme’ or a tasty pizza at the opposite cafe L’Igloo.
Thanks to its altitude and regular investments in cultured snow production, the 3 Valleys area is able to guarantee snow cover from the beginning of December until the end of April over the entire ski area, offering wide ski runs that are expertly maintained nightly by piste bashers.
The Three Valleys has a well deserved reputation for being one of the best ski areas in the French Alps, and we are sure that all levels of skier will be delighted with what it has to offer year after year.
Ideal for Chalet Elise, there is a new high speed 4-person chair lift from Bettaix village providing a fast link into the Three Valleys.
